Banknote Info
At the beginning of the World War 2, the severe did not affected the way of life of Thai people. The Japanese troop had high purchasing power and needed consumer goods for them both in Thailand and the territories under their control. The number of banknotes did not enough to supply the increasing demand.
The government issued 2 types of 1000 baht banknotes that printed at The Royal Thai Survey Department on paper that produced by the Thai Paper Mill at Kanchanaburi.
There are the Bank of Thailand logo and the same serial number stamped with red ink on the back side for high price note authentication purpose.
The 1000 Baht banknotes type 1 were announced on 24th August 1943 and type 2 on 1st March 1944. Type 2 is identical to type 1 but printed with darker color.
The Minister of Finance later announced the Saving Bands in Time of Crisis on 8th Febuary 1945 to redeem all 1000 banknotes to solve the high inflation situation before the end of the war.

The main object is the image of King Rama 8 at the middle right. The upper middle image is Garuda. The image at the middle left is Phra Prang Sam Yod. The words "The Royal Thai Survey Department" are at the lower middle. The watermark of the constitution placed on the pedestal tray is in the left circle.

The main object is the Anandasamakom throne hall. The words "The Royal Thai Survey Department" are at the lower middle.
