Bia, cowrie shells, and Pod Duang, silver bullet money, were normally used in Thailand since Sukhothai Kingdom (750 years ago). Until Siam established diplomatic ties with the western countries, the trading transactions dramatically increased. Paper money were initially adopted to Siam currency system.
